Insights from Latin America's Potato Research

The Latin American Potato journal is a biannual scientific publication edited by the Latin American Potato Association (ALAP). The magazine publishes research, reflection, review and short communication articles on various thematic areas related to potato cultivation, written in Spanish, Portuguese and English. Contributions submitted to the magazine must be original and unpublished and must not be submitted simultaneously to other magazines. The articles are reviewed by external international double-blind peers. Additionally, the magazine publishes contributions that promote the dissemination of science in its opinion articles sections that constitute a contribution to knowledge in potato cultivation.

The Revista Latinoamericana de la Papa (Latin American Journal of the Potato) serves as the premier, peer-reviewed scientific forum dedicated entirely to advancing potato research, cultivation, and agricultural economics across Latin America and the Caribbean. Published semi-annually by the Asociación Latinoamericana de la Papa (ALAP), this diamond open-access journal compiles essential insights from regional experts—historically led by prolific contributions from Bolivia (29%), Peru (23%), and Argentina (13%). The journal plays a crucial role in safeguarding food security and optimizing regional crop yield stability.
