Published by the Asociación Latinoamericana de la Papa (ALAP), this journal promotes permanent, immediate, and unrestricted open access to all its academic and scientific content. By removing financial, legal, and technical paywalls, the journal fosters the democratization and social appropriation of specialized agricultural knowledge, ensuring that research funded by public or institutional resources is accessible to everyone.
2. Free and Immediate Open Access
No Paywalls: All published articles, reviews, short communications, and opinion pieces are made freely available online to readers instantly upon publication.
Public Availability: Anyone can read, download, print, search, link, crawl, or share the full text of these articles without requesting prior permission from the publisher or the author, in accordance with the DOAJ definition of Open Access.
3. Publication Fees and Costs
Transparency of Fees: To remain accessible to researchers throughout the global scientific community, the journal clearly outlines all publishing costs.
Article Processing Charges (APC): Manuscripts accepted for publication after undergoing rigorous peer review are subject to a Publication Fee of 400 USD. This fee supports the editorial management, technical indexing, hosting, and permanent maintenance of the digital archiving infrastructure. There are no hidden submission fees.
4. Copyright and Licensing
To protect author rights while maximizing the global reach and impact of research, the journal implements a flexible licensing framework:
Creative Commons Licensing: All content published in the journal is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
User Terms: Under this license, third parties are free to share (copy and redistribute) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon) the material, provided that:
